ACF-Plugin Compatibility Information

Our ACF-Plugin comes in two versions, each catering to different system requirements and feature sets. Below, you’ll find detailed compatibility information to help you choose the version that best suits your needs.

ACF-Plugin Version 1.7.1.7

Optimized for Modern Apple Systems

  • macOS Compatibility:
    • Arm (M1/M2…) Mac: Compatible with Apple computers running macOS 12.3 (Monterey) and later, including macOS Sonoma 14.2.
    • Intel Mac: Compatible with Apple computers running macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) and later, including macOS Sonoma 14.2.
  • Windows Compatibility:
    • Intel based 64 Windows 10 or 11
  • FileMaker Compatibility: Fully functional with all versions of FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Pro Advanced that runs 64 bit mode.
  • Hardware Compatibility Mac: Runs on Intel 64 bit, and arm64 bit (Intel Macs, and Silicon Macs – M series) natively
  • Hardware compatibility Windows: Runs on any 64 Bit Intel PC that can run FileMaker 64 bit versions.
  • Code Compatibility: Can run code compiled with all earlier versions, including 1.6.2.0
  • FileMaker Server Support: Runs on FileMaker Server.
  • Recommended Use: Ideal for all Mac or Windows Users.
  • Windows compatibility: Beta release Now.

ACF-Plugin Version 1.6.2.0

Broader Compatibility, Including Windows

  • Extended OS Support: Compatible with macOS (Intel) and Windows (32/64 bit). Also runs on Apple Silicon Macs (M1/M2/M3) using Rosetta. MacOS versions from Sierra and up.
  • FileMaker Compatibility:
    • Mac: Works with FileMaker 12 and later.
    • Windows: Compatible with FileMaker 11 and later.
  • Developer-ID Signed: This version is signed with a developer-ID certificate but is not notarized by Apple.
  • Legacy Features: Contains core functionalities but lacks some features introduced in version 1.7.0.8.
  • Code Compatibility: Can run code compiled with version 1.6.2.0.
  • Recommended Use: Suitable for users on a wider range of operating systems, including legacy systems. Mac users, especially those on Apple Silicon, are recommended to use version 1.7.0.8 for optimal performance.

Choosing the Right Version

  • For Modern Apple Ecosystem: If you are using newer Apple hardware and need the latest features, ACF-Plugin 1.7.0.8 is the best choice.
  • For Legacy Systems and Windows: If you need compatibility with older systems, including Windows or Intel Macs, ACF-Plugin 1.6.2.0 is a reliable option. However, this version does not have all the new features in this newer plugin.
  • Features available in the two versions: The reference manual have a image on each page in the upper right corner telling the minimum required version for that particular feature presented on the manual page.
  • Lisence information: Both plugin versions can run on the same license. If you chose 1.6.2.0, you can just download 1.7.0.8 without additional cost. The same license is valid for Mac and Windows systems. The license is “one-off” permanent license, no subscriptions.
